Today, 2.3 million acupuncture treatments are carried out by British Acupuncture Council Members. Acupuncture is widely accepted as an effective solution for a range of illnesses, is considered suitable for all ages and can be used alongside conventional medicine. Acupuncture works to maintain the body’s equilibrium by focusing on all aspects of well-being: physical, mental and emotional.

  • Graduate of the Northern College of Acupuncture in York in 1992 and of the School of Chinese Herbal Medicine in 1994
  • Twenty eight years’ clinical experience gained in practices in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire in both private practice and in GP surgeries, treating chronic and acute conditions across a range of ages.

Treatments

Acupuncture aims to treat the individual to restore the innate balance which the body strives to maintain for good health.
Various factors such as emotional distress, hereditary disposition or outside factors such as trauma, infection, poor nutrition or lifestyle all impact on health.

Acupuncture may benefit a wide range of disorders including the following conditions:

  • Musculo-skeletal and painful problems including sports injuries, back pain, sciatica, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, osteo-arthritis, sprains and injuries to soft tissue
  • Neurological disorders including headache and migraine, tinnitus, Bell’s palsy
  • Menstrual, gynaecological and obstetric disorders such as period irregularities, pre-menstrual tension, morning sickness, delayed labour, malposition of foetus, endometriosis
